After moving slowly through the process of getting their draft picks signed, the Eagles have officially picked up the pace this week with three signings. Chris Gocong and Jeremy Bloom are the latest to officially become Philadelphia Eagles.LB/DE Chris Gocong and WR Jeremy Bloom both officially agreed to four-year contracts with the Eagles on Wednesday. Their signings come on the heels of fourth round pick Max Jean-Gilles signing on Monday.
Gocong, who played at Cal Poly, led the nation in sacks for the second consecutiv season and racked up 41 sacks over his final two seasons of college ball. The Eagles took him in the third round of the draft after dealing with the Jets to move up and insure themselves of getting Gocong with the 71st overall pick in the draft. The deal meant that the birds had to ship their third rounder and a seventh rounder to the Jets, but they considered the move well worth it to upgrade their beleaguered pass rush.
