Since Nets President Rod Thorn talked to his team almost three weeks ago, expressing his concern over its lack of toughness, the Nets have gone 7-2 with five road wins.
But while Thorn's off-day address may have gotten the attention of the Nets, he knows the team's success since then has had more to do with what Devin Harris and Vince Carter have done.
Averaging a combined 49.1 points per game, Carter and Harris are the top-scoring duo in the league. On the 3-1 western swing the Nets wrapped up with a win in Phoenix on Sunday night, their first there since March 13, 1993, Harris averaged 30 points, 6.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds. He was named Eastern Conference player of the week Monday.
