Jim Dunn has forever been one of drag racing's most enduring characters. He has drag raced for the better part of his entire life and was a central figure in the growth of the NHRA when he and a talented, versatile legion of emerging West Coast hot rodders were terrorizing the countless dragstrips and dry lakes throughout the Golden State more than 50 years ago.
Dunn drove an unlimited scramble of race cars during his frenetic career, from AA/Altereds to Top Fuel dragsters to a host of innovative Funny Cars -- including at least two using his own rear-engine design.
